The night before I headed to the desert get away, I decided I couldn't go with only sketchbooks, I had to make a new art journal, as my current journal had about one page left.
I used a well loved and well worn book bought at the Marche de Puces in Paris. So worth the heaviness it added to my suitcase to bring old books home with me!
Can you see the old lettering on the spine? I had to save it in the process of making it work.
I had to "mend" this book a little, (which I think gives it added character), by reinforcing the existing corners.
Always gonna try out my friend's latest discoveries! Of course, I loved the pen and I'm going to have to get one too.
