Last week I was mentioning how the roses picked from the garden were inspiring me. Well, I meant to show you how they continued to show up in whatever I was working on, previously my Project Life, this time my art journal.
When I went to gather them, I had no idea that they would make such an impact on my creative play. I love that about creative inspiration; you never know where it's going to come from or how strongly it will inspire. You just have to be open to letting it.
That not-knowingness is one of my favorite things about the creative process too. I don't know how that inspiration is going to present itself in what I'm making...or how it might be different in different mediums. Clearly in the art journal, it was the watercolored roses, but also the color palette.
I love art. I love making.
Oh, and I wanted to thank Julie Balzer for the sweet shout out on her blog. If you want to see some other blogs that are inspiring, check out her list of current blog crushes. Julie loves art, loves making, and is full of creative inspiration, check her out!
