A very special part of ArtNest for me was getting able to take classes from Anahata and Amy. Although I consider them both dear friends, and we often room together at art retreats, I have never gotten to be a student in either of their classes. It was so much fun! No wonder why their classes are so full. The piece above is the 2nd piece I did in Anahata's class. It's on an 11x17" canvas board. Anahata makes it look so easy to think like she does, and create like she does, but it's not that easy. It sure is fun though to be pushed in new directions and play with paints and doodles and paper and glue. By the time I got to this piece, my doodling desire had kicked in full gear. I made this for my son's room. All three little ones in the photos are of my Dad. My son is really close to his "Papa", so the tie in seemed fitting. Here are some favorite spots close up:
Here is the first piece I made in Anahata's class.

The second day we had Amy Hanna's Rejuvenated Jewels class. She too makes it look so easy to think so creatively out of the box as she does. Again, not so easy. Again, lots of fun to get pushed there. My necklace ended up being pretty simple, after Amy stopped me from trying to add every cool thing I had to one necklace.
Here's my workspace during the class...can you tell I had fun shopping and packing for this class?
Here is the necklace Amy made for herself after Maija gifted her with this amazing bird:
And here is the journal Amy made in my class on the last day:
Look at this wonderful A cuff link she added:
As usual, I've come home with far too few photos. I really have to get better at using my camera at retreats. Here's one of the three teachers.
If you want to see more Artnest photos there is a flickr group here. And if you think this retreat sounds right up your alley, they are always planning the next wonderful retreat here. They're onto something special.
