Goofing around with the artnest hostesses while packing on the last night. Julie, Candice, me, Amy and Anahata. See our cute striped socks? They were part of our gift bags. Here the gift bags are hanging by the fireplace when we arrived.
The special care and creativity you see here in the goodie bags pretty much sums up the entire Artnest retreat. Julie and Candice did an amazing job keeping all 22 of us happy, and they did it all with a smile on their faces and a can-do attitude, no matter what little challenge popped up. They hosted the event as if we were all family, and after 4 nights together in the cabin, we were - a little art family. Do you ever read a really engaging book and then, after finishing, you miss the characters and miss visiting with them in your "real" life? I do, and that's what it felt like after returning home. I miss relaxing and creating with Candice, Julie, Marina, Amanda, Anahata, Amy Ha., Ananda, Elise, Kecia, Maija, Dede, Jennifer, Angela, Kelly, Michele, Amy Hu., Melinda, Lisa, Laurie, Cheryl, and Jayne. I felt like I was just getting to know everyone. On the last night I asked (begged... harassed?) everyone to sign my journal. Here's that page.
I'll post more tomorrow about the classes, but I'll finish today with some photos from the last day's lunch break fun...snowmobiling and sledding. Soooo fun, I loved it!

Can you see how beautiful it was? Most days the snow softly fell, and we were surrounded by beautiful white snow and Aspen Trees for as far as you could see. Just so pretty and peaceful.
