So, as I am getting ready to send off a few things, I thought I'd show you how I try to organize and keep track of things I've made and passed on. When I participate in a collaborative and create something that I know I most likely will never see again, I try to either photograph it or color copy it. Anything that's not 3D I take to Staples and have them make a copy on their glossy paper. I love the feel of their glossy paper, it's not shiny at all, just feels smooth. I can't tell you how often I've looked at one of these copies and been totally surprised by it, not remembering something I've made in part or whole. I certainly see the changes in me and my style of creating over time as well. And yes, there are times I cringe, but there are also times I'm pleased with what I see. Anyway, back to the Staples copies. When I get the copies made they always give me one of these large envelopes. Ugly, but good for storing large sheets of paper.
So I decided to add some paper to them to make them more sturdy and more appealing.
One envelope per collaborative, for example, here's inside the self portrait envelope.
I just thought I'd encourage you to take the time to make a copy or photograph of the things you make and send out into the world.
As I said, I'm getting ready to send some things off. Here's what I did for Nina's sign in page...again, she's so clever and creative that it's not a traditional sign in, but a big piece of cloth. I loved having your book in my house Nina. Syd, it's on it's way!
