Here's my Project Life album spread for week 23 of the year, June 3-9.
I used my Silhouette to cut out the date and week for the title card. I know there is so much more that I could do with the machine, and I look forward to that, but in the meantime, I love that it's easy enough to get started and use for the basics.
Here's the left side of the weekly spread:
One day I happened to catch my boys willing to let me snap a couple of pictures (not the usual reaction, although, they are getting a little better about it. Or maybe they are just getting more used to it?) so I added a 6x12 insert:
I used the backside of the insert to include notes about my son going to his 8th grade graduation dance (not a "date" dance, just all 8th graders). His sweet friend Kate worked and worked on him to get him to agree to go, and at the last minute he did! I'm happy I had a spot to write about it for him to look back on, since I don't do any other form of memory keeping.
I tried to emulate the font that was already on the "Hello There" journal card.
Here's the right side of the week:
This week, like most, I tried to put my own spin on the items I used by changing them a little bit. I put my own doodles on top of the photo above, as a little trim, I added the black glitter heart on top of the postcard I received along with my Uppercase Magazine to cover up their logo, colored in the geometric shapes on the journal card top right, just little things. I don't want my book to look crazy with my art, but also don't want it to look like everyone else's that might be using the same products. Still trying to find a balance between no embellishments and too many.
Still enjoying it and really hope that by the end of this year, I'll find a way to make Project Life a part of my weekly plan so I can enjoy it more and play catch up less!
